i like how this piece looks really organic, this kind of work is really what i do like about pleating paper i like the form of it, i just think i would rather over complicate the pleats but have the same kind of shape.

 This is the kind of pleating that i do like to do, i think that it looks organic like a mountain range which is what i really like, it is a amazing piece of pleating i would just like to change the form of it so that it looks more interesting when it is hung from the auditorium.

 i like this piece i quite like how it isn't done with plain white paper i think that it being brown paper makes it look more organic. same with the piece below i think that the choice of paper makes the piece look more organic.

 i think that these two pieces are really interesting, i think that the one above  is nice how it is mounted and then held into position by string to make it look more interesting and makes it look different to what you would expect. the piece below has a more man made shape its not as organic as the others but i like it a lot, i think that its a nice piece.

This is and example of other pleating work, this is the kind  of pleating that i really like and due to my liking for it i think that i am going to base my final piece around the idea of pleating paper to make the paper look different to what it actually is.

Inspiration

I like this piece quite a lot, i like how it is one really long piece of pleat that is really organic and has been put into a natural environment, i do like how its paper that has been put back into nature, its part of a tree that has been processed and then turned back into a organic form that fits very well into the environment.

 i think this piece just looks epic, it looks amazing!

some of my work so far.... getting some ideas together

all of the above pieces are made from a single piece of paper that i cut down the middle in strips then i used the strips to make a organic shape, i ended up with this piece above to start with. i like how diffferent light can change the whole concept of the picture i think that it looks more mysterious with the flash on forming the shadows.

all of the above peices are my pleat pieces this is what i would like to base my final piece on i just think that it is the most interesting thing that i have done so far and has the best affect on the paper i just think that this is what i favour doing in terms of paper mechanics so i am going to explore this technique more.

the above pictures i made from a single piece of paper trying to make a piece of paper look really organic but it was alot harder then i thought it would be, i did like how the final peice turned out though i think that it does look quite organic even if it isn't overly complicated.

the piece i have done above is just me messing around with geometric shapes, i did the same shape over and over down a thin strip of paper to see what affect it would have and if it would look any good, i like what the outcome is mainly because i can constantly change it and it isnt very restricted which i think it a good aspect of this design.

The three above pieces are made from the same method as the pieces at the top of this post, i just tried to twist the pieces thought to see what happened and i think that it had quite a nice affect and that it looks quite organic , i like it but it is a hard piece to keep in postition because of the natural resistance of the paper.

the 3 peices above are made with the same a paper as the one at the very top but this time i tried to coil it and then bend and manipulate different pieces so that it looked different and more unique.

this piece is one of my favorites and i did it by accident, i misplaced this piece and then it got mangled but i still like it and thing that it looks very unique.
